PALLIATIVE MEDICAL SPECIALIST (6 month maternity leave cover position)

CHCB is recognised as a provider of specialist palliative care and a state-wide specialist in progressive neurology, in particular Motor Neurone Disease, Huntingtons Disease and advanced Multiple Sclerosis. In addition, CHCB is accredited as a training facility by RACP and RACGP (Extended Skills) and with The University of Notre Dame provides teaching for final year medical students.

The successful applicant will be joining a growing and dynamic team providing specialist palliative medicine support as part of the interdisciplinary team across a range of settings- inpatient, community, outpatient clinics and consultancy outreach. In addition, the successful applicant will have/be:

- Medical Practitioner, with appropriate post-graduate Palliative Medicine qualifications, preferably Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM) and eligible for registration as a medical specialist with AHPRA

- Skills and commitment to professional development

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Professional work ethic

Hours negotiable. This is a maternity leave cover position which can be commenced immediately with the potential for ongoing permanent employment. Attractive salary package

This role will be part time at CHCB and part time in Latrobe Valley, Central and East Gippsland. The successful applicant will provide specialist medical services to the Gippsland region and assist the Clinical Director Palliative Medicine and Gippsland Regional Palliative Care Consortium in the strategic development of services. In addition, the successful applicant will have/be:

- Medical Practitioner, with appropriate post-graduate Palliative Medicine qualifications, preferably Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) or Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine (FAChPM) and eligible for registration as a medical specialist with AHPRA

About you:

The role:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for experienced Support Workers wanting a rewarding career in the Werribee and Hoppers Crossing area. We require Support Workers to assist a family with their 6 month old infant with complex needs in Respite Care. Regular shifts are available during the week on Tuesdays and Thursdays (8 Hour Active Overnight Shifts) and fortnightly Saturdays (4 Hours 12pm-4pm).

Key Selection Criteria:
- You have enthusiasm, passion and commitment to Community Care.
- You have experience as a support worker particularly working with infants will be highly regarded.
- You hold a Certificate III in Aged Care or a Certificate IV in Disability, desirable however not essential.
- You have experience working in a family environment
- You hold a current drivers licence and have your own reliable motor vehicle and mobile phone.
- You have a current First Aid Certificate and Working with Children Check
