Executive Team

Libby Saunders
National Director, Community Care & CEO Calvary Silver Circle

Libby has 35 years’ experience, working initially in community health and disability services as a social worker before joining Calvary Silver Circle 18 years ago. As the senior manager responsible for operations and then CEO since 2005, she has overseen the development and expansion of the organisation to meet and maintain its original purpose - to be responsive, respectful and reliable in its service provision, enabling people to live as they choose. Libby is also the national Director Community Care on the LCMHC's National Leadership Team.

Sandra Knight
Director Information Systems

Sandra comes from a disability/aged care background, has been with Calvary Silver Circle for 13 years and combines her service delivery experience with IT expertise to ensure our systems meet  service users, staff, purchaser and regulatory needs.  Her role includes responsibility for Risk and OH&S.

Helen Douglas
Director of Operations and Development

Helen has over 30 years experience in the acute , subacute , community health and the not-for-profit sector. A dual registered nurse Helen was trained in Northern Ireland and came to Australia in 1987.  As a Senior Manager, Helen is committed to quality , consumer directed care, with an expertise in regulatory compliance including OH&S and risk management . Helen is a Board member of Community West.

 

Chris Giles
Director Hunter - Manning Integration and Innovation

Chris has 18 years experience in senior management positions. Chris has a high degree of business acumen that complements her commitment to client care and quality initiatives. Chris was responsible for developing the range of community programs including CACP, EACH, EACHD, Day Centres, Overnight Respite Cottages and flexible respite services for Catholic Care Hunter Manning and joined CSC following the acquisition of Catholic Care Hunter Manning in April 2011, bringing her skills in planning, innovative service development and evaluation to the organisation.

Mark Harris
Director of Finance

Mark has a background in senior finance, HR, and IT having worked in a range of commercial manufacturers. Having also worked in the not for profit sector, Mark joins us after 5 years working for a large church. Mark is both a CPA and Chartered Secretary and has a Grad Dip in Theology. Mark is responsible for the financial functions of the company together with Business Systems and IT infrastructure. Centrally based in Melbourne at Calvary Silver Circle's Head Office, Mark’s team perform the functions of Payables, Receivables, Payroll, Acquittals to government funding bodies, and reporting of financial accounts to the Calvary Silver Circle executive, National Leadership Team and the Board.

Lisa Connell 
Director Mission

Lisa’s background in critical care, emergency, remote area nursing and education has led to her involvement in education and development programmes in countries such as PNG, Uganda, Iraq and Afghanistan. Her ongoing education has included a Masters of Public Advocacy and a PhD on human-trafficking.  Lisa’s responsibility is to promote the mission and core values of LCMHC and Calvary Silver Circle, enabling staff to do likewise in continuing the traditions of the Sisters of Little Company of Mary in 'Being For Others'.

 

Sarah Malpass
Director Quality & Clinical Services

Sarah is a Registered Nurse with over 20+ years experience. Sarah has extensive management and community experience including working with community based programs through General Practice Divisions of WA, 8 years of specialist community  palliative care experience, managed hospital in the home programs and has extensive aged care experience.

Sarah has worked with Calvary Silver Circle since 2008 and has had various roles since her commencement including Area Manager NSW/ACT and Manager of Continuous Improvement. Sarah joined the executive team in late 2010 as the Director Quality & Clinical Services. Her key responsibilities include ensuring service delivery and clinical services meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 and AS/NZ 4801:2001 accreditation and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovative care.

Damien Sloane
Director Human Resources

Damien has over 30 years experience in HR covering State and Federal government and the private sector, including experience in community organisations and public health. Damien was the Director, People and Learning with
CatholicCare Hunter-Manning from January 2005 until it was acquired by Little Company of Mary Health Care on 1 April 2011, when he joined the executive of Calvary Silver Circle.

Prior to this he has worked with Concord Hospital, Baptist Community Services and the National Occupational Health and Safety Commission.

He has an active interest in the organisational aspects of leadership, change, systems and processes, employee engagement and strategic workforce deployment. Damien holds a Certificate of Personnel Management and is  a member of the Industrial Advisory Committee of the Aged & Community Services Association of NSW & ACT Inc.
