Calvary Training Institute

Calvary Training Institute (CTI) is an integral part of Calvary Silver Circle. As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO - TOID 21786), Calvary Training Institute delivers a range of nationally accredited courses for people wanting to or already working in home and community care, aged care, and disability services. CTI also provides accredited training in service coordination and management skills, and a range of short courses.

Our vision
To deliver cutting edge training to those working in or wishing to work in this sector, to ensure all clients receive sensitive and individual care from trained and skilled staff.

Who are we?
CTI is a team of professional training staff, specialising in adult learning and in community care training requirements. They are supported by a skilled administrative team working with one of the largest private providers of home care services. CTI has won a number of awards and commendations including 2007, SCTI - achieved a Highly Recommended Award for Creating a Learning Culture at Community Services & Health Industry Training Awards and the Trainee of the Year award in 2006.

We offer training for all Calvary Silver Circle staff and external organisation, tailoring to your particular requirements.

Our training is practical, work based, empowering, fun and rewarding. We are supportive and encouraging of those returning to study in middle years and recognise existing skills and build on them. We use real situations, real problems in discussion and work through strategies to assist in providing outcomes. Participants will have opportunity to immediately apply learning to workplace and then reflect on experience.

Our trainers and assessors are qualified, skilled, experienced, and supportive.

  • All CTI staff have worked in the industry– they are hands on people
  • All CTI staff are qualified educators and assessors exceeding the Australian Quality Training Framework requirements for training professionals
  • All CTI staff have tertiary qualifications in fields such as nursing, social work, occupational therapy or management

Training delivered

  • CHC30308 Certificate III in Home and Community Care
  • CHC30208 Certificate III in Aged Care
  • CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability

  • BSB51107 Diploma of Management

All of these certificates and the diploma courses are nationally recognised and are offered free to Calvary Silver Circle staff and at a competitive cost to other organisations or individuals. These courses are also offered under the government approved traineeship scheme. CTI can assist individuals or organisations with information about this scheme.

    Designed to deliver either competencies from the Community Services Training Package including the Certificate 3/4/ Diploma levels or tailored topics selected according to training needs analysis.
  • Workshops
    Designed to meet the needs of employers and employees in residential care, acute care or home and residential care settings.
  • Dementia care training
    Tailored to suit the needs of staff working in the home, acute care or in residential care. A nationally recognised competency from the Community Services Training Package. Delivered by experts in the field focusing on the person centred approach.

Earn as you Learn!
Join our Traineeship Program.

What is a Traineeship?
It is a Commonwealth funded incentive scheme that enables our company to provide eligible support workers with the opportunity to obtain a nationally recognised Certificate 3 while being paid for on and off the job training. To be eligible you must:

  • Be working a minimum of 15 hours a week
  • Be able to sustain these hours for the duration of the traineeship
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Have no other prior qualification equivalent to or greater than a Certificate 3. This includes qualifications gained overseas.
