Statement of Client Rights & Responsibilities

Client Rights
The company has a statement of client rights for those receiving services, which is incorporated in the Client Information Booklet.  This statement sets out the expectations the company has of its staff in assisting clients and client’s responsibilities in using our service.

When clients receive our services they can expect that:

  • Staff will discuss their requirements with them and to agree with them about how these will be carried out.
  • They will be provided with information about the level, nature and costs of services provided.
  • Assistance will be given in a manner that respects their privacy and dignity while protecting their safety.
  • Their requests will be responded to in a sensitive and responsible manner.
  • Their right to make decisions about the nature of assistance provided will be respected.
  • Staff will take care and look after their property and possessions during the time they are with clients.
  • All information clients provide to staff is confidential.  The company and the staff working with clients will not disclose any information about them without their approval.
  • Clients have the right to complain if they are not happy with the service.

 

Client Responsibilities
In using our services clients have the following responsibilities:

  • To treat staff with courtesy and respect.
  • To ensure that workers are not required to undertake any duty that would place their physical safety or well-being in jeopardy.
  • To ensure that the workers are not exposed to discrimination or harassment while undertaking duties on your behalf eg on the basis of age, sex, religion, race or disability.
  • To accept responsibility for the decisions they make while we are assisting them.
  • To pay their account promptly.
  • To let us know if they need our staff to do anything extra for them.
  • To maintain electrical and other appliances used by staff in a safe manner.
  • To refrain from smoking in close proximity to the worker when he/she is working in their home.
  • To refrain from giving gifts to support workers or asking them to work outside the arrangements with  the company as their acceptance of either jeopardises their ongoing employment with the company.
